What are Barnacles™ snaps and products?
Barnacles™ snaps and products offer customers the ultimate way to make their mark. Our extensive line of BarnaclesTM snap-on designs attach onto the many items found in our BarnaclesTM product line - bracelets, rings, necklaces, cases for iPhones and iPods, etc. And here's the great part -- switch up the designs as often as you want! They're all interchangeable! Move them around from your bracelet to your iPhone case, or any of our other fine products. And, if you want a truly unique look, send us your own images and we'll "Barnacle-ize" them for you! It gets better. With our additional straps, you can also attach BarnaclesTM snaps to a multitude of other items in your everyday world -- earbud wires, backpacks, purse straps, glasses, and shoe laces, to name a few. Soon, you'll see that, with BarnaclesTM personalization is a snap!

How do I attach and remove my Barnacles™ Snaps from "soft" BarnaclesTM Products with holes (e.g. bracelets, rings, and electronic devices)?
To attach: Push BarnaclesTM Backing into hole and snap BarnaclesTM Design into BarnaclesTM Backing. Or, first snap backing onto the BarnaclesTM Design and then gently "work" the back of the snap through the hole.
To remove: Un-snap BarnaclesTM Backing from BarnaclesTM Design. Or, first gently pull the back of the snap out of the hole, and then un-snap BarnaclesTM Backing from the BarnaclesTM Design, if desired.
How do I attach and remove my BarnaclesTM Snaps from "hard" BarnaclesTM Products with holes (e.g. electronic device cases)?
To attach: Snap BarnaclesTM designs into holes. BarnaclesTM Backing is not necessary.
To remove: Pull out BarnaclesTM design in an un-snapping motion.
How do I attach and remove my BarnaclesTM Snaps from BarnaclesTM Products without holes (e.g. necklaces), along with other items (earbud wires, most purse handles, backpacks, key chains, headbands, other jewelry, shoe laces, sunglasses, etc.)?
To attach: Fold either large or small BarnaclesTM straps around the item, push BarnaclesTM Backing into both holes, and snap BarnaclesTM Design into BarnaclesTM Backing. Or, first snap BarnaclesTM Backing onto the BarnaclesTM Design and then "work" the back of the snap through each of the two strap holes.
To remove: Un-snap BarnaclesTM Backing from BarnaclesTM Design. Or, first gently pull the back of the snap out of the two strap holes, and then un-snap BarnaclesTM Backing from the BarnaclesTM Design, if desired.

What is the BarnaclesTM Tool?
If you've purchased BarnaclesTM cases or some other BarnaclesTM products, you may have noticed the small plastic wrench-like object included in the package. Well, what is it? We call it the BarnaclesTM Tool, and it's there for your convenience, just in case you need a little extra leverage to attach and remove Barnacles snaps.
Additionally, you might find that this tool will help with the removal of the BarnaclesTM Backing from a BarnaclesTM Design. Place the tool in between both pieces (see photo below). Next, simply "twist" the BarnaclesTM Tool, and both pieces will separate. Now the BarnaclesTM Design is ready to snap into a plastic case.
Lastly, some users may find that the BarnaclesTM Tool helps with the removal of the Two-piece iPhone 3GS Crystal Case. Simply place the top edge of the tool at the corner of the case at about a 45 degree angle and push down. You should feel the two pieces "pop" apart. Repeat this step on the remaining corners and sides, if necessary.

How big are Barnacles™ Designs?
The Mini Circle designs are approximately 1/4 inch in diameter, and the Mini Square designs are approximately 1/4 inch x 1/4 inch. The Medium Circle designs are almost 3/4 inch in diameter, and the Medium Square designs are almost 3/4 inch x 3/4 inch. The Large Circle designs are approximately 1 1/8 inch in diameter, and the Large Square designs are approximately 1 1/8 inch by 1 1/8 inch.

What is the BarnaclesTM case liner?
The case liner is a thin piece of clear plastic that is included with each BarnaclesTM case. Place the liner on the inside of the case prior to putting it on your iPhone or iPod to insure there is no contact between the snaps and your device.
How many BarnaclesTM Designs can I fit on my case?
Depending on the sizes and arrangement of your BarnaclesTM designs and the type of case you have, the answer will vary. You will be able to fit many mini designs, several mediums, a few larges, or a combination of the above depending on the look you want to achieve. Please check out the photos placed throughout our website and on our Facebook page, Barnacles Cases and Designs, for ideas and examples.
How do I un-clasp the BarnaclesTM necklace/wrap-around?
Hold each side with finger and thumb, just inside the double grooves and gently pull apart. Holding fingers too close together, while pulling, may damage the clasp.
What are Custom Barnacles™ and what are the purchase details?
The Custom Barnacles™ product is a true collaborative approach to personalization. You supply the image, and we’ll “barnacle-ize” it for you. Simply purchase your Custom Barnacles™ from the Custom Barnacles™ product page (clicking here will take you there), then e-mail your invoice number and any instructions to barnacles@buybarnacles.com along with your image, and we’ll do the rest. We currently accept several file formats - PDF, AI, PSD, and JPEG. Not the artistic type but have something special to say? Send us a phrase along with color and font preferences, and we can design it for you. Of course we do reserve the right to choose not to barnacle-ize your image – in the name of decency or copyright protection. Adding to this point: By submitting an image, you are implicitly stating that the image is your own unique design and/or picture, and is therefore not copyrighted by any other source. If we decline to produce your image for any reason, we will send you notification and refund the purchase price of the item.
A couple of tips: Make sure your image can be cropped into a square or circle without losing anything important. And keep in mind the size of the final product; close-ups are usually best, especially when using images of people.

Are BarnaclesTM designs waterproof?
Unlike the real thing, our BarnaclesTM should be kept on dry land. Immersing them in water could lead to damage.
